Together just you and me

Firstly I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who have left me messages. It's always lovely to receive compliments on your work.

I just love this Simply Gorjuss stamp. I have coloured her in so many different combinations and this week its all shades of grey for Challenge #33 Monochromatic at Diva's by Design. The number 3 is my luck number so that should make this entry double lucky ;D

I didn't realise how many black/grey papers I had floating about in my stash! The papers I have used for this card are Scoops Black by Top Line Creations, All Fall by Nancie Rowe-Janitz for Fancy Pants Designs and AcidWashed Griffin by Basic Grey. I have also used a Maya Road Office Shear.

I didn't have any black/grey flowers so I used my Copics to colour white flowers. I also used my Copics to colour the heart pin and pearls. The ribbon is from one of my local scrapping stores. I am almost out of this and can't remember which store I found it at! The rub on is from a $2 shop.

My Simply Gorjuss stamp "Waiting" was coloured with Copics C1, C3, C5, C7 and C9. I used E50, E53 and R20 for her face.

Thanks for stopping by.

We're "Mint Tea" be together

This week I discovered the House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Blog. This weeks Challenge is Anything Goes with an optional Tea theme. I have so many House Mouse stamps and one of my favourites We're "Mint Tea" be together is just perfect for this challenge.

All papers and embellishments are from my scrap pile this week. The ink I have used to distress my papers is Stampin Spot Sage Shadow from Stampin' Up.

Such cute little mice! The ladybug is a brad from Around The Block. I got a bit adventurous and even pulled out the sewing machine for this card. Think I need a bit more practice. Does anyone else have a sewing machine that is only ever used for paper!

I have coloured this image with copics
Mice: E50, E53, E11, E13, E15, R20
Tea Pot: BG10, BG18, BG72, BG75

...spoil yourself

It's a rainy weekend in Brisbane, just perfect for locking myself away in the craft room and creating.
Today I created a card to enter on the Colour Create Challenge Blog. The colours to use are Rose Pink, Kraft and White. A real challenge for me as I don't generally create with pink.

I was surprised to find so much pink in my stash! Let the creating begin...

The first stamp I ever bought was a Penny Black stamp and they are still one of my favourites. This one is part of an acrylic stamp set. Much cheaper than the wood mounted and easier to store. Well they take less space which means I can buy more ;) The "bubbles" are Champagne pearls from Kaiser.

This image is coloured with the following Copics;
Cat - E11, E13, E50, E53
Mouse: E11, E50, E53
Bath: R20, RV21, RV32
Bowl: R20, RV21, RV32, RV34
Champagne/Bubbles: E02

The sentiment is from the same Penny Black set and the flowers were bought at a local market. One of the stall holders was cleaning out her craft supplies. I got around 100 flowers like these for $8. I like bargains.

The finished product. Sorry about the photo quality the light is bad today. The pink and white patterned paper is old paper from Top Line Creations and the paper covering the K&Company naked chipboard tag is from the Prima Marketing 6x6 Melody Collection.

Thanks for stopping by.

"Mei Li"

New stamps make me happy...

These cute stamps are from Sister Stamps. I had to use real restraint when buying these... so hard to stop at just four, I want them all hehehehehehe.

I bought some really pretty papers when I was in Tokyo earlier this year that is going to match these stamps perfectly. I may have to make a return trip to get some more.

awww how cute... Kawaii!
I can'r remember where I got this coin, I think its been laying around in my embellishment collection for a couple of years.

Mei Li is coloured with Copics
Hair: C3, C5, C7, C9
Clothes: B93, B95, B97
Lantern/Flowers: Y21, Y35, Y38

Tilda Sending Love Letters

Tilda Sending Love Letters is my favourite Magnolia Ink stamp so far and just perfect for a special Birthday Card. My friend Linda is celebrating her 50th Birthday this weekend so this is for her.

Normally I colour my image first then create my card. However I've decided to make my card first this time. I still pull everything out of my stash and have it all around me while creating though!

My finished card and I love it.
Papers are from the Jackson Lodge Collection by Collage Press.  Pearls are "Chino" from Kaiser crafts and I used a Die-Namics die. I am in love with this die at the moment.... think I need to add a few more to my collection!

Flowers were bought from the fabulous Julie at Creations in Paper.

Tilda was coloured with Copics
Hair: E11, E13, E33, E37
Dress/Socks: B00, B12, B21
Flower: Y21, Y38, Y35, G21, YG17
Skin: E50, E51, E53, R20

My first creation in my newly made over craft room. Hope Linda likes this as much as I do!

Scrapbook Room Makeover

Easter is a great time to get things done around the house. 4 whole days to start and complete a project. Me, I like to wait until the last minute! Monday afternoon I walked into my craft room and decided that it was time for a make over. My craft room generally looks like this.....

I have no real storage space, lots of tins stacked everywhere and paper holders in crates. I pulled everything out of the craft room so it looked like this....

The plan was just to paint and put everything back in a more ordered way. Once all the painting was done I decided that new furniture would look so much better ;) So the next weekend we went shopping and found great furniture at the Warehouse.

All this for $250 bargain! For something different we decided to film oursleves putting this all together. We used the GoPro time lapse feature, one photo every 10seconds.

You'll notice I disappear for a bit. The Grand Prix was on and was getting rather exciting. For anyone interested Mark Webber finished 4th.

So here it is, my new craft space, completed, all moved in all ready for some creating.

For the Bride and Groom

Next week my cousin Michael is marrying his partner Jessica in Adelaide. I am lucky enough to have been able to rearrange my work schedule and make the trip down for the wedding, I can't wait!

So today I made my favourite cousin a Wedding card. I had a very clear picture in my head of what this card was going to look like, however the result is nothing like what I planned. Still happy with the final outcome though.

The stamp I used is "Just Married" from Fern Gully Stamps. They are an Australian company. When I was a sales rep for Kidston Crafts I was lucky enough to visit their Victorian store. Needless to say I think I bought more from them than they ordered from me that day.

I coloured the image with Copics and also added some Twinkling H2O to the wedding dress

The papers are from Prima Marketing's Reflections Collection. I used a rub-on from Making Memories "for the bride and groom". I did have a really cool tag for here instead - a swing tag from something I bought at Colorado. Unfortunately when I stamped on it the image didn't work so I had to come up with something else. The metal anchors are from Bumblebee Crafts and the flowers and ribbon are from my ever growing stash.

You can see a hint of the Twinkling H20's in this pic. Such a cute couple... just like Michael and Jess.

"How Do I Love Thee?"

The first stamp I ever bought was "How Do I Love Thee?" by Penny Black from Blossies Scrapbooking in Morayfield almost 10 years ago.

I remember coming home with my new stamp, watercolour pencils and  spending hours perfecting my colouring with my water colour brush. Now days I use Copics but I still love this stamp. This one stamp lead to a rather large collection of Penny Blacks and a new shelf in the craft room to house them all!

The new challenge over at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Blog is Crafty Bargains.... Just perfect for my cute little stamp and my bargain of the summer - a pack of 100 paper doilies for $1.50

I haven't used this stamp in ages and loved colouring him in again.

I used Copic's E51, E11, E13, E15, R20, RV32, RV35 C1, C3, BV23, R24, R24 and R29 on the Penny Black stamp.
Even Jasmine approves of this creation, either that or she wants me to stop creating and feed her!

"You are So Handsome"

I really am beginning to have a slight Magnolia addiction. This Edwin stamp "Edwin wants a Hug" is just too cute!
The paper I used is double sided paper from My Minds Eye - Breeze "Boyish" Handsome. The cardstock is Bazzil which I have distressed and inked with "vintage photo" distress ink. How does everyone else distress their cardstock? I use my metal ruler to roughen up the edges. I feel it gives it a nice non-uniform look.
I just love the blue glitter. The crown is a brad from Delish Designs "mulberry crown". These have been sitting in my craft stash for years.
Edwin is coloured with Copics E50, E51, R20, T1, C3, C5, C7, B21, B93, B97, R27, R29, E13, E15 and E17.

Colour Create Challenge # 88 Pink & Green

I just LOVE the Simply Gorjuss stamps and decided "Waiting" would be just perfect for my entry into the Colour Create Challenge. The challenge is to use the colours green and pink (not a combo I would normally use) with the optional extra of hand made flowers.
I expanded my copics range on Saturday after a visit to Julie at Creations in Paper in Maroochydore. I now finally have some cool greys and a few more pinks. This is my first attempt at black hair and I am very pleased with the result.

My handmade flower took me forever, but it didn't help that I had no idea what I was doing and that it was 1am! Not a bad effort considering. The other flowers are from my op shop stash.

TOMIC # 32 - Monochromatic pink + bow

I bought my first Magnolia Ink stamp 12months ago and am now hooked! I have decided to enter my first challenge at Tomic and join other addicted Magnolia Ink stampers in sharing my creations.
The challenge is to use pink as the main colour and to also add a bow somewhere.
I am not a big lover of pink cards so this was a bit of a challenge. First step was to colour in my stamp. I have used one of my new Magnolia Ink stamps from the Winter Stamp Club "Tilda with Flowers"
Second Step is to empty all my possible supplies onto my craft table so I can grab at will! Then the fun begins...
I am pleased with the final card. The flowers are from my op shop travels, the card, paper and ribbon are from my scraps. I've inked the edges with Distress Inks Vintage Photo. The i love you rub on is old stock from my years as a TLC Consultant. I've also added kindy glitz to the flowers and some Kaiser pearls.
Op shops are the best place for  flowers and lace. I just buy fake bunches of flowers and pull them apart.
Still need a bit of work on my copic colouring. I think I need a couple more lighter pinks. Love an excuse to go buy more copics!
